Mooch is a curious cat. His real name is Jesus Climent, lives in Dublin and plays all sorts of electronic music, but mostly house.
Mooch started mixing music at the age of 14, with two modified vinyl decks, sharing his tapes with his friends. After a long period of playing music at private parties, he landed as a resident DJ in Metro (Gandia/Valencia) were he enjoyed starting the night with all sort of pop/rock/indie music only to end it up with house tunes.
After moving to Helsinki in 1999, he spent several years playing at student parties, where he continued collecting influences from all sorts of artists and styles.
It was not until 2003 when he figured out there was a place for him in the electronic scene, thanks to Genki, who set him up in Basso (link to the main page, in Finnish), as a guest DJ. Soon thereafter he managed to get his own weekly program, “Mooch more house”, for over a year. He has also enjoyed playing as a guest DJ for Mr.A.
During his years in Helsinki, you may have listened to him in several places, including Beatroot, Kuudes Linja, Liberte, UnderBar, Oliver21, mbar and Birdie.
Before moving out of Finland, he co-founded Planet Ash Music Club (PAMC), successfully organizing some of the greatest nights of electronic music mixed with rock in Helsinki. If you live up north, PAMC continues to organize great parties in the capital area so dont miss them!
After moving to Dublin (Ireland) in 2008, he has been trying to look for a place in the nightlife while accommodating to the new city and a new job. Stay tuned!
